Starting Surfing - Circa 1986

In this photo I was surfing at 13 years old in Barrote Beach, Jacaraipe - ES, Brazil
I was riding a 6'0" Local Mole surfboard square tail with V-Bottom. I made my on boots using a cotton socks and silkscreen paint. Crazy ideas at that time.

Phantom Surfer

EN: Bob Simmons is captured streaking across a solid wall in Malibu during the summer of 1949. Note his board's long wake, indicative of pure speed his signature surfboards were known for. Due to the such amazing speed the locals from Imperial beach immediately dubbed him the "Phantom Surfer"

The "bible" for the shortboard revolution written by Lindsay Lord in 1946. This book was the source of inspiration to Bob Simmons apply engineering/hydrodynamic concepts in the surfboards.

6'1" Bonzer made in Brazil - AC Surfboards

I really enjoy to ride my 6'1" Bonzer made in Brazil in hollow waves. So fast!!

I am very greateful for the support received from Malcolm Campbell and Bing Copeland. Malcolm and his sons Jacob and Ian kindly shared with me the fins displacement and the concave details.

Larry Gephart fins

This fins were created by the master Larry Gephart. The fins provided by TrueAmes are made in marine plywood and double foiled to improve the performance. Outstanding quality!

Fish - My second Planing Hull

My son Felipe enjoying his future planing hull. This is a 5'9" Fish shaped by André Coquinho from AC Surfboards. We shaped the board together including some information provide by my colleague Tyler Warren from Dana Point - CA.
Made in Styrofoam provide by Keahana, this epoxy fish includes a pair of Larry Gephart fins and a single to double concave on the bottom.

The planing hull rode well last saturday in Jeffery's, a reef 5 minutes from my house. The waves were good and it is amazing to feel how the board works in cutbacks, bottom turns and in the hollow part of the waves.
